Part of this park are the beautiful coast around Punekaiki known as the pankakes rocks . Those limestone rocks look like a pile of pancakes ready for a sea monster or a near by mountain's giant to come and eat them. It is quite spectacular but the whole coast is in fact beautiful with quite high mountains dying into the sea as imposing cliffs . Long beaches and a great variety of flowers and birds kept us happy the whole day .We end up in a lovely place 'birdsong' where we share the main room once more with 3 quite noisy german couples . Jean Michel wrapped some salmon in foil and throw it in the oven . Unhappily it was farm salmon , as badly nourrished than in Ireland and we end up choosing a boiled egg instead!!!
