The Mekong Delta

When you do not speak Vietnamese and plan to go down south where none will speak english you better leave besides your adventurous spirit and just join a group . We did so to visit the Mekong Delta and it was a great idea .
First day: we went to Myto , Ben tree , visited a crocodile farm, visited a coconut candy factory, hear before lunch some southern music, went up as far as Cantho where we choose a homestay , sleeping on wooden bed with straw mattress under our pink mosquito net and enjoying the family diner : elephant ear fish
Second day : Long stroll on the river to witness the floating markets in Cai Rang ,Sellers and buyers bargaining and exchanging goods from boat to boat. Rowing ride through the mazez of shady small canals passing some poor fishermen villages , seeing the first lotus's flowers .
Third day : Passed on a bamboo bridge , a Monkey bridge as they say here , met in a Cham village some moslems locals . Their children had plenty to sell in their handycraft shop ! It was difficult to refuse their baked cakes , their lovely weaving.
Then long bus ride back to town.
