Easy

It is easy to arrive here from Ho Chi Minh Ville. Less noise, less traffic, less people. Big avenues, lots of trees and flowers ,beautifully renovated colonial buildings, great markets, that is what I saw first with the wonderful children’s faces . Half of the population beeing under 18 , it is easy to admire them all day long here or there . Having checked in a friendly centrally situated hotel Jean Michel already knew , we started our first evening on the most splendid Asian waterfront you could dream of . A long promenade , billowing flags and swaying palm trees, along a mighty river . The French Protectorat from 1863 shaped the town for about one century (while it grew from 25.000 people to 500 000 in 1970. Over one million now) and it is quite charming to see the old french mansions , some beatifully kept.
Phnom Penh is on the move and the atmosphere in pub and restaurant was brilliant
.
