At Un's place

An other scholar ,an other friend . Un( pronouce Oune ) and his young son came to Pre Veng to pick us up early sunday morning to make sure it would not be too hot before we reach his village . It felt great to be only 2 per motorbike and it gave a great impression of freedom to ride for hours again , the wind blowing in my hairs, my leg tied and feeling solid for once and my mind open to whatever would happen next ! I was not disappointed . The family was waiting for us in a large farm , under a wooden house with a steep staircase where we would go only to sleep on the bamboo floor under a mosquito net , as the habit here is to live all together under the building to feel cooler the whole day . There we eat, there we lie if we want to take a nap ,there we have hammock where to read , there we receive the visitors among hens and ducks, cats and dogs , children and grandchildren . A feast for the eyes and the heart . Right away I was spotted by a grand aunt who wouldn't let go of me so we end up having our nap in the arms of each other as 2 widows sharing the secret of their knowledge of the love gone. The children were all splendifiscent with gentleness and health and we could see all of them preparing for the celebration of New year, getting ready for the lighting candle and incense at 6:24pm that sunday entering this way in the new year which then would be celebrated for 3 full days and specially the following day : Monday when they would all go to the monastery offering food to the monks and sharing a meall all together , that is the 600 families of the village, around 3000 people ie over 1600 children !
