A Place of plenty

Kaikoura is a place of plenty The mountains dramatically drop into the sea and the marine life is quite special around Kai and koura means food and crayfish so it is the speciality of the own The irish guy who own the Strawberry Tree , Shayne Kavanagh offers the best deal in town : -60$for a whole crayfish, not very big mind you but deliciously fresh and tasty. It was a special treat. / The region produce wine as well so the Seafest festival celebrates annually the abundance of the Ocean and the richness of the land . Whale watching and swimming with dolphins ( 50 or 60) at the times) are the main attractions. When I told Stephane my youngest daughter that is what I will do to day swim with dolphins she said : “Please please Mum , tell them about me , Talk to them and tell them about me” It seems how as she knows how healing dolphins can be. .Diving and bird watching are very popular as well as they have black brown mollymawks, petrels, shags, Antarctic fumars, terns, shearwaters, gulls, turnstones, royal albatross and many more . If you add a fur seal colony a mile down the road you will see how much this little town has a lot to offer . You can as well swim with the seals; They are quite cheeky and interactive and playfull as well.
