Desley

Desley , an adorable lady of 74 had planned to go cruise and lunch on the 1rst.Every year for years she come to Picton with an older friend on boxing day for 2 weeks holydays .The 3 past years they rent a twin room in la Villa. Her friend 80 recently broke her hip and Desley chanced to come on her own. I think we all loved her and it is not something difficult to do . A nurse for all her career she carries on her face the compassion, the care, the kindness. Never a word of critic but always a cheerful enthusiasm, almost juvenile. She has those beautiful blue eyes , a little faded for having had many reasons to cry. She wears bright colours and I couldn’t help to take pictures of her in her neat lovely outfits ; She really did touch my heart. When she speaks about her daughter a large smile lit up her pretty face.So I went with her in the Queen Charlotte Soundthen in the Torea Bay to spend 2 quiet and happy hours in Portage Ressort on the shores of the Kenepuru Sound, a well maintained resort and boat club in the middle of some moderns and tranquil units .We had a lunch there . She a soup and I a fish and the boat , the Beachcomber, picked us back for a 2 hours tour around the many bays of the Malborough Sounds with so many beautiful holydays homes peeping out from the trees in really remote areas The scenery was superb and when we disembarked at 5 it was about time to put the cook’s apron once more
