Land of Holy Spirit

The Sunday after a quick tour of th huge town , we were off for the « sanctuary » ,an hour away from home and had around 2pm a first stop in the little town of Dandenong where it seems that there are many afghans settlers so we had a kebab before entering the forest . It is the story of one man His name : William Ricketts , who dedicated his life to a vision . He had the innermost experience of the universal eternal oneness , of the wholeness of all beeings would they be plants animals or men . He managed to have a real communion with that Divine Truth that all is ONE . It was as well the vision of the Aborigenal people of Australia who were able to communicate with every kingdom of their Mother Nature. They even regard the desert places as holy all part of beautiful Mother Earth . With them he found that most brutal crime of the white men was to destroy the Australian bush by burning it , destroying the holy forest and the animals living in it . He was inspired by the Aboriginal

faith in the Unity of all lives .And he decided to give n expression to that belief . As if he wanted to take upon himself the “ sins of his white brothers” who didn’t realise that “All living things everywhere are forever one with us” and whose motto was : “ If it moves shoot it, if it doesn’t, chop it down !”stripping the aboriginals who lived a very very ancient culture of everything they were living for ! So he started to create beautiful sculptures including the aboriginal symbols “ He places his beautiful clay faces and bodies in the forest itself and they peer out of the rocks as though they were waiting for the opportunity to move out again in their ancient land , as an integral part of it . The work of this man shows his fervent faith and resonates in me as profoundly spiritual . He died at the âge of 95 ,and worked some 60 full years to bring his vision to fruition, trying to bring back some to sanity the conscience of white men ,and leaving to the State his Green Land, his Sacred Sanctuary of Love . For all of us to ponder.
