The botanic garden

Le jardin botanique est juste en face de l'appartement de "Mary and Bruce "Comme elle dit c'est son propre jardin . Quelqu'un d'autres l'entretient et elle le remercie de n'avoir même pas à se salir les mains !A l'origine c'était un marais en bordure de Melbourne . C'est un jardin qui a été créé dès 1846 et qui est aujourd'hui le poumon vert de la ville. Entre 1873 et 1909 William Guilfoyle qui s'y connaissait en jardins anglais transforma ce coin sauvage en un gracieux paradis. horticole . Son prédecesseur , le baron von Mueller un des grands botanistes du 19ème siècle y avait introduit des plants rares. Sur 36 hectares on peut y étuduer aujourd'hui plus de 52000 plants qui représentent 10.000C différents espèces des quatre coins du monde e qui m'a le plus touché aujourd'hui c'est de voir le lac où mille nénuphars de différentes couleurs , bleus, roses et blancs dansaient au gré du vent sous le regard des mauves bougainvilliers . Il y avait ausi pas loin un majestueux Magnolia Grandiflora .
Mary m"y a emmené pour un lunch léger au bord du lac . Un moment délicieux .

Guilfoyle created a paradise of lush folliage wrapped around a series of tranquil lakes and sweeping lawns ."36B hctares and more than 52000 plants in display representong approximately 10000 dofferent species from all over the globe . We could hear the cockatoos singing when we had a light lunch by the lake then we did marvel by the Nymphaea Make looking at the blue, oink and white water lilies dancing in the soft breeze by the stunning purple bougainvillea . Mary who live next door, consider this garden as her backyard and never forget to thanks the gardener for providing her with such a wonderful place without having to dirty her hands !
