In Nara

Nara was the capital of japan from 710 to 784 and was considered the craddle of japanese culturel arts and crafts . Buddhist flourished here under the strong patronage of successive Emperors and empresses and today many temples of this town have been registered on the Unesco World Heritage List . I couldn't see all the Temples and Shrines around but visited the famous ones( Tdaiji, Kofukuji )et the Kasuga Shrine in its lovely garden and took the time to see the oldest one ( Gangoji) . The weather was superb and the deers in the park among the cherry trees ,a pure delight to see. The Todaiji ,which was originally built and completed in 752 under Emperor Shomuand to enenshrine an enormous bronze statue of Boudha, was destroyed by the fire and rebuilt in 1692 but scale down to th 2/3 of the original size. Still, it is the largest wooden building in the world and the magnifiscent statue fill thousands of visitors daily with awe even if I did prefer the Kamakura's one
