On the sunday the 4th

We, still at this stage , were not planing to spend a full week waiting for Elisa in Yangon as they say, so on the Sunday morning we went to the long white train station to find how to go to Ngapali , 6 hours drive north west of Rangoon . We realised all the trains belong to the government and as we were determined to give “them” as little money as possible we were looking for a private bus company . Some people said : “no problems busses are running”, some said “no bus, would we like to go by car?” As we knew the price of the gasoline was high, the answer was ‘no’. We saw some people queuing as well for gallons of water as many canalisations were under repairs and people were scared to see drinking water becoming scarce. Burmese are extremely clean and many of them were taking collective bath in the communal pools usually used for washing clothes, laughing and splashing one another . It looked and sounded joyful. I never saw or felt anxiety. It was more “ In misfortune let’s show a brave heart” attitude. And sure they did. All was so lovely and quiet
