Sur un petit îlot entre l'île Elephantine ( qui doit son nom au fait qu'on y faisait un commerce d'ivoire ) et le désert . Cette ïle fut offerte à Lord Kitchener par les autorités egyptiennes pour le remercier d'avoir maîtrisé une révolte au Soudan . Comme c'était un fou de botanque il a transformé l'île en un magnifique jardin où prospèrent toutes sortes d'essences tropicales tant asiattiques qu'africaines . Cette végétation luxuriante abrite de vrais concerts d'oiseaux. On a small island between Elephantine island(which owes its name to the fact that there was an ivory trade) and the desert you have a surprise . This island was given to Lord Kitchener by the Egyptian authorities because he had mastered a revolt in Sudan. As it was a crazy botanic he transformed the island into a beautiful garden where all kinds of thriving tropical species from Asia and Africa . This lush vegetation hosts a real concert of birds.
