He was President of the Labour Party of Ireland until his resignation from the party following the presidential election. He was formerly a Teachta Dála (TD) for the Galway West constituency, and was the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht from 1993 to 1997. Uschi has to finish the paintings she will deliver to the islands  in the Pacicific in dec.
and I have to work on a chapter

Ici, le corps de l'enfant n'est pas fini.
Et moi je dois rectifier un chapitre du livre que je voudrais voir éditer ici.

Let those 3 lively dolls by Ushi ( Aren't they Brotherhood, Equality and Liberty in a way ?) bring to MICKAEL D. HIGGINS all our felicitations for being the 9th president of the Republic of Ireland.

I know Him personnaly, Thanks to Fidelma Mullane, and no One else  in this period of crisis could be a better leader for our  beautiful country.
Thank you Mickael for accepting the responsabilty. I know you are the only One abble to  face the challenge and we will support you from the bottom of our hearts . From Toronto all my love to you and your wife and family.

 Une première pour moi.

Prenez deux verres avec un fond spécial qui est en réalité  le réservoir à absinthe. N'en mettez pas trop : ça fait 68% d'alcool  quand même.
Posez sur le verre la petite cuillère et mettez y deux morceaux de sucre sur lesquels avec amour vous laissez glisser l'eau.
Vous êtes en compagnie de Van Gogh, Verlaine, Rimbaud.
Nous fêtons la victoire de Mickaël D. Higgins le nouveau Président de la République Irlandaise.

Take two glasses with a special bottom that is in reality the reservoir for absinthe . Do not pour too much as it contains  68% of alcoohol. ; On the glass : the special spoon . Lay on it  two pieces of sugar on which with love, slowly , pour the water in order to melt the sugar  . Then you drink it slowly as well and you  are in the company of Van Gogh, Verlaine and Rimbaud .We are celebrating the election of Michaël D, the poet , as the new President of the Républic of Ireland

Mais les talents d'Uschi sont multiples, elle a aussi gagné plusieurs prix internationaux avec ces poupées magnifiques qui ressemblent parfaitement à leurs modèles. Ceci me touche d'autant plus que depuis qu'elle est très jeune c'est une idée qui poursuit Stéphane, celle de la création de poupées à l'image des petites filles à 3 ou 7 ans. Quel splendide cadeau en effet à faire à un petit-enfant !

Ushi earned many international prices with those beautiful dolls she is abble to make . My daughter Stéphane had since very young that project of those representations of a child at 3 or 7 . To see it done was very moving for me .

Le travail d'Ushi

 Je présente  ici un peu du  travail  d'Uschi si heureuse 1à, préparant les semaines de l'année en Polynésie. Elle sera aux Marquises  bientôt  avec ses beaux sourires et ses pinceaux . Nous vivons nos journées aux rythmes vahinés . La musique de Tahiti Nui  passe en boucle . Elle peint, j'écris. Son mari est parti en Italie. Un autre monde que celui dans lequel nous nous enfermons ! Si naturellement insouciant ! Joyeux et inspirant.

Il y a un petit sentier qui mène à un petit ruisseau.

Un samedi tranquille

Après notre aventure américaine nous sommes aujourd'hui, à part une petite marche de reconnaissance dans le parc adjacent, restées sages comme des images à la maison à nous régaler de livres, d'histoires d'amour, de bon vin, d’amitié.

To day apart a little walk to the near by prk , we stayed at home , as wise dolls , reading, finding links on the net and sharing  friendship and love stories.

U S A Immigration

As long as we were so near , Sylvio decided we should go and shop in one of the biggest american fashion outlets  mall near by . So in order to do so we had to pass the immigration . Of course when interrogated of what our connexion was , when Ushi answered that I was a friend she knows through internet and who runs around the world they were not really impressed !!! So here we are , asked to go and get a visa to the immigration counter

as Ushi explains :  it was a very gray Niagara Falls, but winter is coming soon, and we wanted to take a friend from France. We also decided to go shopping on the US side, but two blondes, that know each other " from the internet ! " ( highly suspicious ) ) over there , ma'm , second floor emigration office .They had us fingerprinted and the photo taken and all this took 30 min.

Nous allions passer la frontière pour aller dans un centre commercial américain réputé pour ses soldes mais quand Uschi a dit au préposé des passeports qu'elle me connaissait par internet et m'hébergeait de la veille, la suspicion s'est érigée en bouclier et nous voilà contraintes, Uschi l'allemande et moi la Française, d'aller au bureau de l'immigration subir une interrogation. L'officier, entraîné à la paranoïa visiblement, ne comprenait pas ce qu'une femme de mon âge faisait sur les routes du monde et le besoin que j'avais de fouler le sol américain... Empreintes, photo, le visa fut au bout de 35 minutes délivré, ce qui nous a paru long pour le plaisir de passer une autre demie heure dans un shopping center avant de regagner le Canada libre !

Ville frontière

Le Rainbow Bridge sur lequel nous sommes passés pour entrer aux États-Unis. A droite, nous sommes au Canada,
à gauche nous sommes aux USA. Il y a donc une partie de la ville de Niagara Fallsde chaque côté de la frontière.

Niagara Fall city runs each side of the border so half of the town on the right is canadian and has the big hotels and the touristics shows  when the american side is more industrial and huge outlets  

Du côté américain nous avons aussi cette chute moins spectaculaire.

Mais bien sympathique au travers des arbres.

Quand nous sommes repassés le soir après une courte escapade aux USA nous avons pu bénéficier du feu d'artifice.
