At about one hour 1/2 from Coromandel is a beach which seems in connection with a volcano as the sands are impressively hot and you can dig your own spa . People come there with shovels ( you can as well rent some ) and dig holes where surge very hot water . Impssible to dig deep holes as the water would be too hot and you would burn yourself . It is extrememy agreable ansd supposed to be healing as well . Mike put his bike in the booth of my car and we were there right in time for the low tide when the phenomene occurs . He dug the hole. I take the bath !!! Then he followed his road cycling back east and I followed mine going down south through the range of mountains along twisting roads with fantastic views on the sea or along mighty beaches .
