When it is already saturday morning for you it is only friday night around here . Friday is a special day as it is the day the plane is coming from and going back to Fidjis !!! Of course all those young people on the road know this and see the 2 groups of islands when around ! If I had known I would have done the same but with my brothere in law arriving the following day , it was not the week ! This friday night 12 people were leaving , 8 for Nandi , 4 for Auckland . Among them this lovely 22 year's old english girl Jenny whom I find truly exceptionnal, as she was so aware and always helping and serving everyone with a compassion not often seen at such a young age . She was going to spend 2 weeks in Fidji . And Martin and Tina were going back to NZ to catch their plane to Buenos Aires . As their respective planes were leaving at 0 :30 and 1:30 am , we almost all went at 9 to a restaurant very near by the airport for the famous steak night .
There the boss had the great idea to offer a quite big grilled steak with french fries and salad for the very reasonnable price of 10 dollars ( 6 euros 50) and huge bear( 3 glasses) for 5 more dollars. Vegeterians can have huge salads and wedges ! We were 20 and I tell you many beers went down and our friends were ready to sleep when they did board ! Bill , here on the picture with his blue flowered shirt ) our hostel proprietor, came around midnight to bring all the backpacks and pick up some more clients from the arrival's desk and bring back the 8 of us staying on the island . It is nice to watch the locals arrive here as the families are there with so many flowers necklesses and crowns to welcome them ....
