The legend tells that long time ago in the south of Mallicolo was living Ambat’s tribe. Ambat and his chidren were white and had blond long fine hair. But once even their father had warned them the children ate a pink apple they were not supposed to eat ( does it remind you of something???) and they turned black and had to hide their tiny penis in banana’s leaves and be stuck in the south ! Some of the children to day have blond hair and are said of course to be Ambat’s great great great ( power 10!) grand children .
When Cook came in 1774 they all thought he was Ambat’s friend and was as a white man considered and treated as a God !
Halas! Those great impressions faded quite quickly when the Australians recruiters came black birding” to take the locals away as slaves on their plantations !!Some of them were rapidly grilled or boiled then eaten!!! Not many decided to stay!!
In the tribe of Big Nambas boys still have to pass through the ceremony of circumcision as a ritual to be considered a man.
