Le cadeau du jus de pomme / Apple Cider gift

 Pendant que nous étions si bien logés dans la belle maison de Janice à Takoma Park et bien au chaud sous nos couettes nous pensions aux protestataires
While in DC we were living in this lovely house protected by a huge holly tree and we were talking about the young courageous crowd protesting  in DC

Nous sommes allés les voir qui campaient au centre de la ville  et je peux vous dire qu'il faisait froid, frois , froid cette nuit là
On our way back from Ammapolis , sunday night , we went to see them camping not far from the inaccessible  White House and I can tell you that  it was very very cold out there

Lynn est entrée dans la tente à thé pour demander ce dont ils avaient le plus besoin. De boissons chaudes, a répondu la jeune protestataire qui arrivait du campement de Wall Street.


Lynn entered the "tea tent " and asked what would they need the most . A young New Jersey firl who had already camped in Wall Street  said what they needed the most were hot drinks to help  the protesters to feel warm .

Le lendemain matin, de très bonne heure Lynn a pris le métro pour aller leur porter 4 gallons (16 litres) de jus de pomme. Du jus de pomme chaud à la cannelle, il n'y a rien de mieux pour garder le courage que ça réclame de protester dans ces conditions en plein hiver.
The following morning , monday, very very early , Lynn took the subway to go and deliver 4 gallons of apple cider as hot apple cider is always so good to keep up the spirit. As she says . If we do not do anything who would do it . So she did . I stayed under my quilt.
