De retour à Assouan

Alors là , nous avions une chambre de réservée au Movenpick sur l'ïle Eléphantine plantée au milieu du Nil , une île superbe avec ses deux petits villages nubiens très peu touristiques et encore authentiques . Nous avions vue sur le premier village depuis le côté piscine de cet hôtel luxueux où nous allions passer une nuit. Deux mondes juxtaposés qui n'ont rien à voir l'un avec l'autre, qui ne vivent même pas dans le même siècle. La piscine de l'hôtel se déverse quasiment dans le Nil ( effet d'optique !). Hélas le vent soufflait du désert si fort que ni l'une ni l'autre n'allât jusqu'à enfiler le maillot de bains . La vue de la chambre par contre était superbe et jai passé un bon moment à admirer le ballet des feluccas qui filaient sur le fleuve avant de m'extasier le soir sur la ville éclairée depuis le haut de la tour de l'hotêl qui s'élève peu harmonieuse en fait en son centre mais qui abrite un bar et un restaurant panoramique .


While there, we had reserved a room at the Movenpick on Elephantine Island , an island planted in the Nile, a beautiful island with its two small Nubian villages and yet very little tourism around wich keeps them still quite authentic. We could view the first village from the pool side of that luxury hotel where we would spend a night. Two juxtaposed worlds that have nothing to do with each other, which does not even live in the same century. The hotel pool empties almost into the Nile (optical effect!). Unfortunately the cold north wind blowing from the desert was so strong that neither one nor the other would dare to put the bathing suit. The room view was superb and I had a great time watching the ballet of feluccas who spun on the huge river. At evening we did marvel to see the city illuminated from the top of the hotel's tower which stood quite inharmonious actually in the middleof the building. But the very top floor holds a but has a panoramic bar and restaurant with stonning views of the left bank
