Sakata
Sakata has been a very floroushing port town from witch the aboundant rice of the neighboring Shonaï Plain was shipped . We still can feel the wealth to day in the beautiful old residences of the rich marchants as by instance the Homma family Home , the Homma warehouse, the museum, the precious doll's collections , the many temples and gardens . 7 years ago the Tohoku University of Community Service and Sciences was built for this Yamagata Province and the beauty , order, harmony , space of all the linked buildings would make a lot of our europeans universities think they are simply dreaming ! The library , the computer's room ( one desk per student ! ) the housing on the campus grounds is above any expectation ! Of course all this is situated in beautiful grounds with water, flowers and trees .
