Kamakura
Kamakura is only an hour train away from centre Tokywas and to day the 3rd f April it was our goal to visit with a group of friends and family the lovely old town which has been a political center for about 150 years from the 12th to the 14th century when the rulers were the samourai class with at the top the shogun and his gouvernment . For about one more century after the military gouvernement was distroyed by Nitta Yoshisada who supported the Emperor the city remained very prosperous as a great culture had been developped by then . A very aristocratic one at first , then, the new one based on zen and other Buddhists sects appealing to the samourai as to more common people . In Kamakura reamain more than 100 temples and a huge image of the Buddha weighting 120 tons .We met our friends to the station , were 10 altogether and after organising a kitty , the grand tour started ! I think the Saitoh family does this once a year on springtime as of course, Kamakura has, as well, avenues of cherry trees !
