River and garden Xmas party

The Xmas parties are already on, big times !So we were invited to join Vaea who was going to the river party organised by the lady who runs the language school where she studies english . The party was just as the ones we would through in France in the seventies . Free and joyful kids barefoot dancing and jumping in the grass, throwing themselves all dressed up in the cold river passing by! Parents dressed as hyppies , vintage clothes, short fancy skirts above jeans , long scarves , lingerie's tops over sweaters , boots, didn't seem to be afraid to see their heirs catching a cold and were only laughing at their latest fantaisies! It was a lovely party . A enchanting choir and a jazzy orchestra entertain the people when they were picknicking on the grass then dancing as well . Every group had brought their own food and drinks , blankets and chairs and cuttlery and it we did enjoy a lot this unconventional and very nice meeting of friends while eating some delicious grounded lamb with sweet potatoes lovingly cooked for us all by Vaea who join the group of internation students as herself . I couldn't help to miss my own youth and to ask myselves : " But where are our enthousiasm, our good will, our spirit of fun and freedom , our crazy creativity gone ?" In the younger generations of this beautiful country apparently ! A big thank to Claire the lively hostess to have us there among her people .
