Rarotonga and its sunsets

Rarotonga is the largest of the Cook Islands, but covers only 67sqkm. So as you see it is quite tiny. It was discovered only in 1814, not even 200 years ago! There are some very nice mountain peaks within the interior of the island while the reefs feature a beautiful lagoon of clear turquoise water. There is a main narrow road which circles the island following the coastline for 32 kms and so you are always sure if you tour it to find your way back! If you want to drive here you have to have a cook’s driving licence, that means that you have to pass a test and pay 10$ to do so. Most people rent a motorbike or a scooter and as well they have to pass a test. There are bus touring the road constantly clockwise or anticlockwise You can tour the island for 2 euros and admire the sandy beaches all around; As it is warm and sunny all year around. The dry season ends up in November and the temperature is now between 20 and 25° - enough for me- From December to march it will be more like 26 to 29° . This type of temperature attract some tourists but not too much yet and among them lots of honeymooners! Or even newlywed on the island itself as everything is organise here for those who want to exchange vows on a palm-fringed beach by the crystal clear lagoon; I must say that it is THE tropical paradise we dream of and having been here 3 days I can say that for me it is far more beautiful than Tahiti and Vanuatu put together.
